Blog Topic #6: Communicating via Blog

Be a good Blogger
I really like to have blog assignment for classes and this is my second time have blog for class. I think blog communications is good for students learn from each other, sometimes we can view others blogs and we will learn something we don’t know. From the last class i took which have blog assignment is History class, and it have similar requirement like this management class, we need to post professor require for each assignment and we need to comment our opinions on others. It is a good way for students keep knowledge in mind. For some shy students like me usually don’t speak in the class this is the best way for us to speak up. And it is very helpful for our grade by blogger, we can easily manage and have 20% of our grade, we have less worry about the grade for exams, and it is a way to make students keep their mind in this class. The blog assignments help us a lot. I think blog make us understand more what we did in the class, from the blog discuss we will be more impressive about the activity or discuss we did in the class. And also it is a very nice way to know new friends from this class, I like the blog like this. I think I will still post some ideas about school or work on blogs, I think that will make me learn more from others. I think Pro. K should keep this blog for his MGT3120 course, because this is a very nice way to share people’s experience from the class and I think make it like HW assignment is very good for students, this will make people focus on what we in class. For me I think this is interesting and cool for me now, it is good without any changes.

McGangbang burger

McGangbang burger
I think most people have went to McDonald’s order their meals, but I how many of you try ordered a special burger in McDonalds before? Will they really make for you? I have received a mission from my professor which is going to any McDonalds the one not near Baruch and order a McGangbang burger which is a double cheeseburger with an entire McChicken sandwich stuffed in the middle of the double cheeseburger. According to my professor said we can’t let the McDonald’s staff know that this is a school assignment.
I went to the McDonald’s in Wal-mart around 10:00am in stony brook. I think in the morning there will be less people in the McDonald in Wal-mart. They are only two white American work there, i am the only one who order in the cashier and I told them I want a McGangbang burger, they said they don’t have it. I try to explain that it is a double cheeseburger with a McChicken shoved in it. But she told me they don’t have Mcchicken in this McDonald, they ask me to go to other McDonalds nearby. I shopping there for a while, then I went to another McDonalds which is on 2324 Nesconset Stony Brook about 11:40 am. I think morning will have less people than other time. Most of people will use the drive through at that time, and that will make me order this special burger normally. Most of staff in this McDonald are also white American. Just like what I thought, there just few people eating inside, the drive through is much more busy. I told the cashier I want to order a McGangbang burger, she told me they don’t have it. I did the same thing what I did in the other McDonald, I try to explain and they accepted. Everything is not as simple as what I think, they give me two speared burgers, I told her this is not what I am order. While I was explaining to her again, she asked me put these together by myself. I said no, I want to see your manager, I think he or she will know what I really want. She told me she is the manager here, she asked me to repeat again, and this time she listened to me carefully. She said she will give me what I really want, she went back to the area people who make hamburgers she is asking herself how to make a McGangband burger. Others are laughed on her, and some of them are asking what are you doing? I heard what she said “I am making a Gangband burger” that’s make me laugh. Others saying what is Gangbang burger? 4 or 5minutes later she brings my gangbang burger out and asked is it what you want? I checked it carefully, I said yes. Thank you so much.
If I were hired as a management consultant to this particular McDonald's I would rate the staff's management process very high. The communication they exhibited to each other was trying to be helpful in processing my order. The order was complicated exactly what I expected. The burger she give me is very perfect, she is not only put a burger to another and I saw that when she make that burger she is take seriously I can see that from the cashier. She didn’t give me negative communication to me as the customer, when she knows she make a mistake for customer’s order she feels a little embarrassed. She humbly ask and she brings me not only a burger, and also I can feel her kindness and sincere. When others laugh at her she didn’t say anything, just thinking how to make a special burger the customer order. I think that’s why she can be the manager there. Because she has difference from others which is she is service people with kindness.
I think the actual manufacturing was medium. After the order was taken, it just takes one minute for two burgers. Even though they handed me the wrong order, but it still shows they have work efficiency. After the remake, they really gave me what I want. The most appreciate is she acknowledged the error, and trying to do their best for the guests.
If I had to pick a leader in this case I think I will choose the manager. She didn’t refuse any strange order, and she takes care of it. She did her best to service everyone, when she thinks it is an acceptable order she tries to make it possible and she do it by herself. I think leadership is a necessary skill to work at McDonald's. Different development stages of enterprises facing a different conflict, requires a different leadership, required by different types of genius who can be qualified.

Blog Topic #5: The ABCs of DISC

According to the DISC game we played in the last class before Spring Break, I am a type “D”. I got most on D and I. This means I am a dominance person. This type person they getting immediate results and making quick decisions when people discuss. They are one of the main people who can solve problems. To be more effective, this person needs techniques base on practical experience and identification with a group. I think I am on the right part from the test, but if I can choose another type I think I will choose “C”. Because I saw a report from news which says conscientiousness person will live longer than others. They always doing right things on right ways, people call these people prudent. The decisions they make must be carefully considered. No reckless behavior here, I hope i can be one of these kinds of person. I think if you understand what kind of personal behavior you are you can change what you want to be. You can take change for previous behavior, change the bad to goods, try to acquire some good behaviors which can make you change become the type of person you want to be.
I think this test really help people better understand what they should change, from the test they understand more what kind of personal behaviors they have. They will have right direction point them to be success. I think I understand more that what kind personal I am, what should I do and what I need to improve myself to upper level.

Assignment #4 vision

I always ask myself what is my future jobs, actually I don’t know yet, and I am worry about that. Everyone want to have a wealth and happy family, that’s what I usually think about, because I know that I am not like some other students have talent in studying, I am kind of hard work student and I don’t really have a higher family back ground than the others so I think I should work harder. Sometimes I try to ask myself what is my dream and what should I do to create a better future? My personal vision is become a professional financial advisers, and in few years later I can own my restaurants and auto shops with maintenance and tuner after I graduate. I want to become professional financial advisers because that is my major I am studying in college right now, I really like delicious food and I want to open a good restaurant for people who like high quality foods. I want to open restaurants is not just saying, I work in a lot of restaurants before and I just work in the restaurant which have good foods and nice environment. I just want to know how they manage the restaurant, actually I just learning there and now I know how they purchases and service. I really love cars and I learn every time I went to the auto shop and I don’t know why I just interesting that. I usually spend whole day in the auto shop eat and talk with them and learn from them, I am not kidding about this, because my girl friend always angry with this. She always said that why don’t you just live there, just don’t come back home. And I don’t know why every time I went there is just like something holds me and stay there. I hope in the future I can have a major career which is professional financial advisers and two minor careers.

Blog Topic #3: Decision Making

After the test I am worry about this class, because I can't drop it but I don't want get bad grade from the class. That’s really making me headache, we discuss about the test after the test but I am still worry about it. I don't know what kind of exam we will have for next time. I think that I have more than any of the other 4 ways. The professor gives us right to vote it, and our final proposal is to have united agreement. When most students said “have no essay on next exam” I was really agree about that. Maybe for some students they feel essay can help them a lot, but it is not for people who are not good at writing. Some students are really worry about there is no essay in next exam, so we don't have united agreement, which will not work. Anyway we need to understand each other, so I didn't agree both, I just waiting for the same agreement. Because we can't do like half students take this half take that, we are one group we should have opinion everyone agree. I just focusing on the class, I am not pushing myself to vote for what I want, and I saw we were complete chaos. I think that we can vote our opinion without professor, but that is not works actually, the class is total chaos and full of anger. I think professor let us have this discuss just want we understand how hard to management the whole class and what we really need to do during the discuss, I really learn a lot from that class. It sounds easy to management a company or a group, but it is not as easy as what we thought.

Topic # 2 Planning process for egg game

            At the beginning of the competition started, our group were not organized well maybe we have more group mates than the others. But by that we also have more ideas of planning. Just few minutes later , one of our teammate gives us a good idea and that’s the final function also it works.  We are discussing how can be the best way to save device, and make it works. But some of the group mates are not really following that then we just put that away and listen for more ideas. We send people to check the devices and see which of our function can works, and we need to vote for function which we think can be success.

            We all focus on how man straws we have and do we have enough tape? I think the 20 minutes planning for our group is a little short because we have too many different ideas. But we try our best to do these. First we all know that we should use 20 minutes to find out the best way to achieve the goal what we understand. And next we should work on the function we choose and spend another 20 minutes to make sure the egg get well protect. I think our group did well on the step three, because we have more than three different ideas, and it is hard to decided use which one.  We started to vote just choose one we believe that will works. We didn’t do well on the next two steps. Because we are in hurry, we only have ten minutes left to finished the job. Because after we choose the idea we don’t know how to make that works, and use 5-10 minutes to figure out that. We finished that just before everyone line there, we just wait there and we forget to give a name of the egg, some of the team mate just come back by the professor said times up.  Then we have loses our opportunity to finished this competition.  But in the end, we have chance to try and it really works. Even we didn’t get full points, but we feel good. I like this game, it definitely a very interested game and we do learn things by the game.
